Sergio Ramos will remain at Real Madrid according to La Sexta football programme Jugones. The Madrid captain talked over the situation with Florentino Pérez yesterday and resolved the issue, telling the president that not only will be be staying on but his plan is to end his playing days at the Bernabéu. It was the second meeting between the two men - the first occurred a few days ago when Ramos asked the president to allow him to leave the club on a free transfer so that he could accept an offer from China. The centre-back explained that he had been offered a three-year deal worth 35 million euros per annum but the Chinese club could not afford to buy him out of his contract. Florentino refused point blank, and explained why in an interview with José Ramón de la Morena on Monday night.
Positive meeting with Florentino
The lastest meeting was more constructive, according to Jugones: "I want to continue here, I'm going to retire at Real Madrid. It's been good to talk things through", Ramos was reported to have told Florentino. The president meanwhile, made it clear to Ramos how important he is for the present and long-term project at Real Madrid.
