United States knock France out to reach Under-20 quarter finals
United States had cleared done their homework on rivals France and based their strategy on counter attacking to ensure their place in the next round.
The United States Under-20s went into their U20 World Cup Round of 16 meeting with France as the clear underdogs. Les Bleus were among the favourites to lift the trophy but the US side had studied their rivals to prefection and based their game on counter attacking leaving France with control of the ball. It paid off and they've shown that they're a team that are in Poland to achieve great things.
Sebastian Soto once again was the outstanding player for the States, he scored twice - including one to level the score. Soto is having a great tournament and is setting the benchmark for the United States team.
The win against France is a great boost; however, Tab Ramos squad will face now the most powerful CONMEBOL team, Ecuador, the South America champions in this category.
This is the third time in a row the U20 US national team has reached quarter finals of the U20 World Cup - the first national team in the world to do so.
