De Ligt closer to PSG than ever
The Dutch and Ajax defender is not convinced by Barcelona's offer and seems closer to PSG than ever with Leonardo's return tipping the scales further in their favour.
Netherlands defender, Matthijs de Ligt, is not convinced by Barcelona's offer or the terms they have presented to him with PSG well positioned in the battle for the Ajax player. The LaLiga champions appear to have lost a step in the race for the 19-year-old, who is touted to be one of the best defenders in the world for the next decade and beyond.
Thomas Tuchel could be close to sealing a top class signing with plenty of top European clubs linked before it was whittled down to a couple. De Ligt says Ronaldo tried to convince him to join Juventus when they met Portugal in the Nations League final on sunday night but the teenager says he will take his time over what is a very important decision.
De Ligt not convinced by Barcelona
The player is not convinced with the offer or the sporting guarantees Barça have spoken to him about and it opens the door for one of the most significant signing for PSG and in Europe for the coming year.
Leonardo, the sporting director, could hold the key. His good relationship with Mina Raiola, the player's agent, makes the deal all the more possible. The Italian agent negotiated moves to Paris for Ibrahimovic and Maxwell during his first spell at the club.
De Ligt says "I don't know, I don't know" after Netherlands' loss to Portugal on Sunday and says he will go on holidays before making the decision. It seems, however, that PSG are in pole position to land the young phenom.
