Reports in France claim that PSG have rejected Barcelona's first proposal for Neymar in talks that were headed up by Barça president Josep Bartomeu.

Since the famous words uttered by PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi a few weeks ago, where he seemed to suggest that the club would be open to letting go of Neymar, Barcelona have set the wheels in motion in its operation to bring the Brazilian star back to Camp Nou.

According to French daily Le Parisien, Barcelona have already communicated to PSG that they want to negotiate Neymar’s return for next season (the player himself is also understood to be in favour of the move).

However, PSG were unresponsive in formal talks held between representatives of both clubs, in which Barça president Josep Bartomeu headed up the Camp Nou contingent.

Neymar could take next steps in Barcelona operation

Given the cold nature of the talks so far, it’s possible that the first major step in the operation will have to be taken by Neymar himself, by publically declaring that he wants to leave Parc de Princes, as he had done previously to initiate his move from Barcelona to Paris two years ago.

And the 222 million euros that PSG paid for him then would seem to be around the figure that Barcelona will have fork out for his return to Camp Nou.

His father, Neymar senior, who also played a major role in negotiating his move to PSG two years ago, has already initiated proceedings to get his son his desired return to Cataluña, according to reports.

Neymar Senior has recently cut off all interviews, not only for his son, but himself as well. And during the month of June, he was hardly seen publically. And it would seem that it is no coincidence.
