Zidane in search of good omen in Montreal

Real Madrid are already in Montreal, a destination chosen by Zidane for the first nine days after their return to work. It was there where he began preparations for his most successful season, that of the Liga-Champions League double, and he's looking for a good omen. He heads there with a group in which glistens with the new face of Hazard, who may not be what we call a galáctico, but who significantly improves the squad. And with Jovic, a good striker who reinforces Benzema's position. There are other newbies, if not so shiny, but who add to the overall unit. I believe that Madrid have, once again, a deeper squad this year, similar to the one from that year when we referred to them having 'a second team'.

Galáctico mentality needed for Pogba

There is something missing, of course, and that is Paul Pogba, with the manager insistent that he be brought in. He is a player with power and goals, around whom Zidane wants to revolve much of the play. It seems that Florentino is on the same page, or he at least acts that way. In the past, he did not fail to secure this type of major objective, whether the name was Figo, Zidane, Ronaldo or Beckham, and no matter which club owned them. But it's been a while since those signings (and Cristiano, Kaká and Bale can't be seen in the same light) so we'll now see if those attributes return. If so, it will be a matter of him putting as much interest into making it happen, as he did with those galácticos from his first spell.

Keylor, Luka, Lunin

It appears that Keylor wants to stay, or at least he does not want to leave if his contract conditions are diminished. If he stays, fine and dandy. For the moment, his refusal to leave has helped Zidane to get rid of the idea - a crazy one in my opinion - of bringing through his son Luca as second choice. Now we have seen that this will not be the case, with the youngster joining Racing, a good place for him. There he can develop in the Segunda, and at a club and in a city that has potential and standing. There we will see what he can really do. And if in the end Keylor leaves, there is still Lunin in reserve, almost unused by Leganés on loan but in the U-20 World Cup made his mark as he became a champion with the Ukraine team.
