United's youngsters come on to claim victory over inter

Manchester United saw off Inter Milan by a single goal in Singapore after a rather subdued affair over the first hour. 

Several United youngsters came on around the 60-minute mark and injected much-needed life into the game, before eventually finding a goal in the 76th minute through 17-year-old Mason Greenwood, who had a wonderful 30 minutes along with fellow academy graduate Tahith Chong. And the pair linked up minutes later to almost give United a second, but Greenwood's first-time volley from Chong's cross rattled the crossbar. 

Solksjaer will be delighted with the performance of the two youngsters, as well as new signing Wan-Bissaka. But several senior players, Pogba, Matic, Shaw and Lingard, had left a lot to be desired before they made their exit. Nevertheless, United have the all-important victory and head into their next game against Spurs on Thursday with with three wins from three on this summer tour so far.

Chong draws another yellow card for Inter, this time it's Skriniar.  

United have another chance but this time it's the veterans involved. Ashley Young delivers a beautiful ball over the top to on-rushing Mata in the six yard area. The Spaniard gets a touch but can't stop the ball from sailing over the byline. 

United's 8 subs have really turned this game around. Chong has been brilliant. This time he makes space for himself down the left, plays a wonderful cross to Greenwood, who hits an equally wonderful first-time volley that hits the bar!

Another foul on Chong and United have a free kick in a threatening area. 

Candreva is booked for a rash sliding challenge on Chong close to the corner flag. Chong has been spritely since coming on and just a minute later has a crack from distance. His low shot is just wide of the far post. 

These eights subs have injected some life into United now, they're probing, making chances, but are yet to really test Handanovic in goal. 

Great ball played intot he path of Perisic in the box, but Tuanzebe does well to clear the danger. 

Appeals for a United penalty as Pereira is taken down in the box, but the ref signals for a goal kick. 

Solskjaer makes EIGHT substitutions 

Dalbert plays a fine ball into the United box for Perisic, who has to stretch and can't get a foot to it. He applauds his team mate for the idea though.

It's a bright start from United! They have a made a couple of chances in the opening five minutes - the best being a shot from James who was teed up thanks to a clever dummy by Pogba.  

United get the second half underway. Perisic has come on for Longo as Conte looks to strenghthen his side. 

The teams are coming out of the tunnel to start this second half. Let's hope it's a bit better than the first.

Wan-Bissaka has been United's best player so far. The young new right back has been active done the flank, pushing forward, finding space, and always looking for the ball. 

Manchester United may have been far off the best in England over the past few years, but it seems to have had little to no effect on their international following. An absolute sea of red in the stands in Singapore. I think I have spotted just two Inter Milan shirts. 

Peep, peep! That's the end to a rather poor first half. United have been expectedly the better side, but Conte will be happy considering the weak XI he has fielded. 

Inter's Dalbert tries his luck with a volley from the corner of the box. It's way off target, but the ball manages to ricochet off one of his own men and out for a goal kick.

Lingard and Martial link up well in the Inter box, after United broke quickly from a corner at the other end. Martial's shot is blocked and United have another corner. But they can do nothing with it. United look dangerous on the break but are lacking at the finish. 

Decent chance for United! Lingard comes rushing towards the box, passes it right to James and continues his run. James tries to play a quick ball back to Lingard but his pass is off target and the ball runs towards the far touchline. 

Decent break from United. They had the overlap on, but Inter manage to clear it for corner, from which United can do nothing of note. 

Lingard is fouled by Brozovic as he rushed towards the box. That's the Inter midfielder's second offence and he goes in the book. Rashford takes the direct free kick but can't get the ball passed the wall. 

Another long range effort for United, this time from Martial. It's well struck and on target but Handanovic saves with ease. 

It's a quality delivery from Sensi, but United win back control as no Inter player could stick a head on it. 

Esposito tries to round Tuanzebe, who fouls the Inter striker. They now have a chance to deliver a ball from the set-piece just outside United's half. 

Ball comes in from the left corner but it's eventually dealt with by the United defence. 

Inter have a chance to attack and have won a corner. 

A subdued atmoshpere for what has been a subdued game so far. 

First chance for United! Pogba squares as short pass to Shaw, who fancies his chances from 25 yards. It's a decent effort, just gliding past Handanovic's right post. 

United have a chance to break through Rashford, who comes storming towards forward. But he's dispossesed in the box as he tries to take on two defenders when there was an easy pass on to his left. 

Brozovic puts in a hard challenge on Daniel James that leaves him floored. The ref has a word with the Inter midfielder but no card is brandished. 

Martial delivers the corner but the ball travels over everyone and over the far touchline. 

United probing around the Inter area. And they now have a corner.

James and Wan-Bissaka try to link up down the right, but James is eventually dispossessed. There is a spark to United in these first few minutes. But no chances as of yet either end. 

Great passage of play from United there, started with some clever footwork and movement from new boy Wan-Bissaka at the back. 

And Inter kick off!

Another man that was linked with a move away from Old Trafford, David de Gea is now expected to stay and starts today against Inter. 

On the topic of Lukaku: Sky Sports are reporting this morning that United have rejected a 60-million-euro bid from Inter Milan for the Belgian striker. 

Somewhat coincidentally, the man who has been heavily linked with Inter, Romelu Lukaku will sit this one out through injury, as he has the two previous games. He remains a prime target of Antonio Conte but United's 75-million-pound price tag is the major issue for Serie A club.

United's starting XI. Pogba starts, so too do new boys James and Wan-Bissaka. It's a strong-looking side. 

Solskjaer was busy signing shirts and memorabilia for fans in Singapore ahead of the game. Not the kind of signings he wants to be concentrating on before August 8, but it comes with the job. 

After beating Perth Glory and Leeds United in Australia, Antonio Conte's Inter Milan will be a sterner test for Solskjaer, who has already said that he won't be changing his whole XI at half time.
