Zidane: "I know I have a great team"

Zinedine Zidane spoke after his side fell to Spurs thanks to a Harry Kane goal in the Audi Cup on Tuesday evening.

Signings: "Today, we were better. We have to keep getting better. We can't be happy with the loss but we were better in every aspect and you have to be positive, knowing what to do to get better."

James: "I don't know what will happen. We are here, training, playing and I am thinking about that."

Goalkeeping debate: "Everthing is obvious for everyone. Keylor had a great game today. I don't think any player has a starting spot assured here. They are all in the same team. Everyone has to be ready and today you have to speak about those here. And they did really well."

Do you want James to stay? "I am not thinking about that. I am here with my players, thinking about what we are doing now. Nothing else."

Happy with the squad: "We are here. All of us. The players are the ones here. You can't keep thinking about it. Things can change until 31 August. We are working with the squad and I have confidence in my players. It's true that the games are going poorly, it's not a good moment because when you lose it's not great but we will not lose confidence. We know that this year will be long and we know that we will perform."

Bale not travelling: "He didn't travel because he wasn't feeling up to it. He wasn't well, and speaking with the doctors, it was better that he stayed in Madrid. He stayed training there. It's a decision made together, with the doctors and with me, speaking to him."

Feelings after the game: "Always positibe. Nobody will quit on what we will do this year. Nobody. I know that it's complicated because we started with a difficult season, we have started in tough form. I know that I have a great team. We are not ready yet, you can see it. We will recover our play, more confidence, more everything. What we need to do is just win one game, that's the truth."
