Neymar’s exit from PSG appears to be drawing closer, as the club’s official store at the Parc de Princes stadium had gone ahead with removing merchandise bearing any reference to the player from the shelves before opening on Monday morning.

According to Uol Sporte, the only item bearing any reference to the Brazilian star is in a space reserved for the new boot from the player's personal sponsors, Nike.

In addition to merchandise, shop workers were also instructed to remove all signage with the player’s image. Now other PSG players like Edinson Cavani, Thiago Silva and Marco Verratti can be found in the club store signage, in addition to Kylian Mbappé.

However, according to Uol Sporte, the club has indicated there is no marketing strategy in place that implies that the player is on the verge of leaving Paris.

PSG fans tell Neymar to "get lost"

While the club claims no message was being made at the club store regarding Neymar, PSG fans sent a clear message on their feelings about the wantaway striker during the opening game of the Ligue 1 season on Sunday.

With Neymar left out of the squad for the game (yet another indication that his time in Paris could be coming to an end), PSG went on to win 3-0 against Nimes thanks to goals from Cavani, Mbappé, and Ángel Di María.

But the real media focus after game was not on the performance on the pitch, but rather on what happened in the stands – where fans chanted “Neymar you son of a bitch” and erected banners with messages such as: "Neymar get lost".

Aside from the fallout over his well-documented attempts to engineer his exit from PSG, Neymar’s relationship with the club's fans was neither helped by the fact that in an interview in July, he claimed his best moment as a player was the UCL 6-1 win with Barcelona over his current side.
