Christian Pulisic is the new Hazard or Robben - Cascarino
Former Chelsea player Tony Cascarino believes the young American star could become the new Eden Hazard or Arjen Robben besides being a great asset for the Blues.
The are huge expectations surrounding Christian Pulisic in the wake of his arrival in London after his 73-million-euro record transfer to Chelsea, as he's being tipped to be Eden Hazard's replacement after the Blues' transfer ban, with the US international proving his value in his first games as a Chelsea player.
Frank Lampard, who is Pulisic's new boss, has praised the talent of the American youngster, but he's cautious about doing so, declaring last week he is pleased with his signing: "I am really happy with him. There is lots, lots more to come. Again, he's showing all the good signs for what he can be for the club. The expectancy is right, he is a big signing for us, but you have to remember his age."
But former Chelsea player Tony Cascarino is not taking the same care while speaking about Pulisic, as for him, the sky is the limit for the US winger, and he even dropped both Arjen Robben and Eden Hazard's names while talking about Pulisic in his column for The Times.
Pulisic showed great creative skill in Olivier Giroud's opener in the European Super Cup against Liverpool, and Cascarino feels the 20-year-old US international will be a massive asset for Lampard this season.
"Christian Pulisic looks like he will be a very dangerous player for Chelsea. I don't remember a young Eden Hazard being as quick and direct, and there's no reason Pulisic can't develop into a player of Hazard's standing," were Cascarino's words, but the former Chelsea player took it even further.
"Pulisic reminds me of Arjen Robben; you cannot stop him one-on-one because you don't know which way he's going to go, and his pace is devastating."
Replacing Hazard is not an easy task, but Cascarino is clear and sure about Pulisic's potential as he expects the American to be as good as the Belgian and Arjen Robben.
