Neymar and PSG move towards reconciliation - L'Equipe

An exit from the Paris club this season is looking increasingly unlikely given the demands and reservations of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus.

Time is starting to move a little too fast for Neymar and, with the clock ticking, a solution to his hunt for a new home looks increasingly unlikely. With recent reports of mounting tension between Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus over any potential move and ill will from the PSG fans, Neymar's current situation looks far from rosy. If Tuchel selects him to face Toulouse, however, at least he will get the chance to focus on playing and win some fans over on the pitch, despite the boos and whistles.

Tensions easing between Neymar and PSG

Yet the Toulouse game is the least of Neymar's worries - he will be more concerned with what comes next. With only ten days left until the transfer window closes, on 2 September, an exit from PSG is still a long way off. That said, according to L'Equipe on Saturday, the tension between PSG and Neymar has eased somewhat and sources inside the club say "this is no longer a war".

Wage demands

Ultimately Neymar's move to Ligue 1 has been seen as a step back in his career and despite his desire to return to Barcelona - or in fact anywhere out of Barça, Real Madrid and Juventus - a move this season does not look on the cards. Furthermore, he is currently two years into a five-year deal worth 37 million euros a year after tax, a sum he wants to maintain at another club over a similar five-year period. The problem is that both Madrid and Barcelona have reservations about the financial implications of bringing him to the club and his current injury problems recurring.
