Tevin Biles and other sports siblings' problems with the law
The brother of the Olympic gold medalist has been charged for triple murder, however, Simone Biles' brother is not the only sports relative with criminal problems.
On Friday, August 30, it was announced that the brother of US Olympic gold medalist, Simone Biles, Tevin Biles-Thomas, had been charged for triple murder, for the New Year's Eve shooting in Ohio.
But Tevin Biles-Thomas is not the only brother of a sports star that has had problems with the law, and here is a list of similar cases to that of Simone Biles' sibling.
Brian Rapinoe (Megan Rapinoe)
The brother of two-time World Cup champion Megan Rapinoe has a long history of being in and out of jail, for different criminal activities related to assault, armed robbery and drugs.
Matías Messi (Lionel Messi)
The brother of one of, if not the greatest footballers of all time, Matías Messi, was sentenced to two years and six months in prison for illegally carrying an armed weapon, after trying to rob a boat at the Fighiera fishing club in Argentina.
However, the crime couldn't be proved; preventing him from ending up in jail, but the Barcelona star's brother was forbidden from leaving the country for the period of the sentence.
Juan Alberto Martínez (Carlos Tevez)
Carlos Tevez's brother was accused of attempted robbery in 2010 when he and the player's brother-in-law tried to assault a stock truck at a service station in 2008. The 4th Chamber of Crime in Cordoba sentenced both of Tevez' relatives to 16 years in prison.
Alexander Gastón del Castillo (Kun Agüero)
In March 2019, Kun Agüero's younger brother, Alexander Gastón del Castillo, was arrested in Buenos Aires, Argentina, for handing over a girl for another man to rape her.
Víctor Álvarez (Canelo Álvarez)
Víctor Álvarez was arrested in Jalisco, Mexico, in 2012 after he was accused of illegally carrying weapons, but the arrest was short-lived. The family went to the Public Security Department with documentation that stated that the boxer's brother was allowed to use these weapons legally.
William H. Jenkins (Janoris Jenkins)
William Jenkins, brother of the New York Giants cornerback Janoris Jenkins, was charged for the murder of a man found at the NFL star's house in June 2018. The man in question was a music producer named Roosevelt Rene, a friend of the cornerback, who was occupying Janoris' home while he was in Florida.
