Simeone rages over Ramos: "You've got balls this small!"
TV images have captured the Atlético coach's protests after Real Madrid's Sergio Ramos was not punished for allegedly insulting an assistant referee.
Spanish television images have captured Atlético Madrid coach Diego Simeone's furious protests after Sergio Ramos allegedly abused an assistant referee in Saturday's derby draw with Real Madrid.
According to Simeone, Madrid captain Ramos shouted "la puta que te parió" (which literally translates as "the whore who gave birth to you") at Rubén Becerril Gómez after Atlético's Vitolo was not booked for a first-half foul on midfielder Toni Kroos.
"How can you let him get away with an insult like that?"
However, Ramos escaped punishment for the alleged insult, leading Simeone to direct bitter, prolonged complaints at Becerril Gómez and fourth official Alberto González Hernández.
In images broadcast by Movistar+ LaLiga and Gol TV, Simeone can be seen repeatedly and energetically reminding Becerril Gómez of Ramos' apparent words, before yelling: "You've bottled it!"
Moments later, he turns to González Hernández and, placing his hands side by side in a gesture designed to express diminutive size, shouts: "You've got balls this small - this small!"
At the end of the first half, the Argentine then resumes his protests, telling the match officials: "How can you let him get away with an insult like that? How?"
Diego Costa joins in Simeone complaints
Atlético forward Diego Costa can also be seen complaining about the incident as he walks off the pitch, saying to match referee José González González: "I got banned for eight games for something half as bad..."
