Samuel Umtiti and Sergi Roberto have been left out of Barcelona's squad to play Prague on Wednesday in the Champions League. Both have been left out due to knee injuries with Umtiti suffering a 'bruised knee' according to the club's official website.

The central defender returned to action against Eibar at the weekend in the absence of Gerard Piqué. It was his first game of the season but it seems the issues he has been having with his knee have not cleared up.

Umtiti played just 14 times in LaLiga last season. He missed significant time after going to Doha in Qatar last winter to recover from a persistent knee injury. The 25-year-old could not reclaim his place in the team once he returned with Clement Lenglet taking advantage of his compatriot's absence during that time to cement his partnership with Piqué.

Having avoided surgery, he went to Qatar to undergo a rehab programme but he hasn't been able to shake off the injuries that have plagued him ever since. He left the France squad during the September international break with a foot injury and has suffered another setback despite his promising display against Eibar at Ipurua on Saturday.

Sergi Roberto is also missing with a knee injury picked up against Eibar.
