Real Madrid and Barcelona fixtures before Clásico

The Clásico is fixed for December 18 at 21:00 CEST. LaLiga have since rejected this proposal and have appealed this decision but, for now, that is the date and time of the first clash between Real Madrid and Barcelona this season.

Neither club have qualified yet for the Champions League knockout stages but sit first and second in LaLiga with Barcelona on 18 and Real Madrid on 17 points. The last group game in Europe takes place the week before the teams are set to face each other in LaLiga but their schedules and planning change dramatically with the midweek Clásico.

Barcelona, just like Real Madrid, will play seven games before the Clásico at Camp Nou a week before Christmas. Valverde's side play at home to Valladolid (29/10), Celta (9/11), and Mallorca (8/12). Away from home, they have games against Levante (2/11), Leganés (24/11), Atlético Madrid (1/12) and Real Sociedad (15/12) in LaLiga. In Europe, they play Slavia Praga (23/10 and 05/11), and welcome Dortmund (27/11) to the Camp Nou in the fifth game before closing out the opening stage of their European adveture at the San Siro against Inter (10/12).

Barcelona fixtures

Zinedine Zidane has some tinkering to do with his training program and travel plans too with games at the Bernabéu against Leganés (30/10), Betis (2/11), Real Sociedad (24/11), and Espanyol (8/12), with trips to Eibar (9/11), Alavés (1/12) and the Mestalla to play against Valencia (15/12). In the Champions, they play the return trip against Galatasaray (6/11), welcome PSG to the Bernabéu (26/11), and then travel to Belgium to play Brugge in three must-win games (11/12).
