Cavani's father tells son: "You'll win every trophy in France but you'll never win the Champions League"
PSG's Uruguayan forward "is desperate to win the Champions League", but his father told Movistar, "Teams don't win anything just by spending money".
It's every players's dream to win the Champions League and Edinson Cavani is no exception. The Uruguayan "is desperate to win the Champions League, according to his father Luis. being crowned champions of Europe remains the 32-year-old's chief objective with PSG and has made a note of his challenge on his barbecue table back home - much to his father's amusement. "If you go to his house, he's got a table where he has barbacues and he wrote, 'Paris-Saint Germain, European champions 2019... " the player's father explained. "I nearly laughed my head off. I added undereneath, 'Ha ha ha ha...' I don't think he even noticed, but one day he's going to have to rub it off".
Luis Cavani, who was interviewed for Movistar programme Uruguayos: los otros' ('Uruguayans: The Others') feels his son needs to be more realistic with his career goals. "He is always telling me that I am a negative person. I told him that he would win every single trophy in France but he'd never win the Champions League. In football, you don't win just by spending a lot of money".
Cavani has won every honour in France
Since joining PSG in 2013/2014, Cavani has won five Ligue 1 titles, four Coupes de France, seven Trophée des champions and five and five Coupes de la Ligue but as his father points out, he's never won the Champions League with the Parisiens - in spite of the huge investment the club has made to win it.
