Messi wins AS Award 2019 as LaLiga's highest goalscorer
Barcelona superstar and six times Ballon d'Or winner was recognised at the AS Awards 2019 as part of the celebrations for the 90th anniversary of LaLiga

Leo Messi was recognised with an AS Sports Award this evening at the AS Awards gala event in the centre of Madrid. The Barcelona superstar, who won his sixth Ballon d'Or on Monday night in Paris, was unable to attend the AS ceremony, but sent this video he recorded earlier with AS editor-in-chief Vicente Jiménez.
LaLiga turns 90
Spain's LaLiga celebrated its 90th anniversary in February of this year, and to celebrate that fact a number of this evening's AS Awards went to people connected with the championship. Leo Messi was recognised for being LaLiga's record scorer of all time, with 428 goals.
