Klopp calls out translator ahead of RB Salzburg - Liverpool game

The Liverpool coach was unhappy after the translator for the press conference ahead of the RB Salzburg Champions League game made a mess of Henderson's answer.

Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp was less than impressed by the English to German translator ahead of the Reds' Champions League match against RB Salzburg, in which the English side need to get at least a draw to be guaranteed a place in the last 16.

Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson had said the following:

We've done it before, but that doesn't mean it's going to be easy and we will do it again.

We can learn from those experiences and we know what we need to do and we know it will be difficult.

But we also have confidence in our own ability and I feel as though if we perform to the level we have been, and that we are capable of, then we can get a good result.

But in turning Henderson's answer into German, the translator clearly went off-track, leading Klopp to erupt:

It's shit when the translator sits next to a coach who speaks German. The question was, if our form from last year winning the Champions League title can help us tomorrow, because we have always delivered in situations like this.

The translator doesn’t talk about that and instead talks about us going into an easy game, all the normal stuff we get asked.

You have to listen, otherwise I could do the translation, it's not so difficult.

I am in a competition mode already, I can tell you.

The translator can’t have forgotten Klopp actually speaks German, can he?
