PSG eyeing AC Milan's Paqueta for January
PSG sporting director knows the ex-Flamengo player well and has reportedly made a specific request for his signature in January.
Lucas Paqueta could potentially be one of PSG's signings in the winter transfer window.
According to the French outlet RMC Sport, the Parisian club is interested in signing the Brazilian midfielder, who moved to AC Milan from Flamengo for €35 million in January.
Paqueta is reportedly a specific request of PSG’s Brazilian sporting director Leonardo, who knows his 27-year-old compatriot well.
The Flamengo graduate certainly fits the profile of the kind of player that PSG coach Thomas Tuchel likes. He is an attacking midfielder, but his versatility allows him to play in other positions, such as a defensive midfielder or on either of the two wings.
Paqueta: stand-out player for AC Milan
Paqueta has been one of the stand-out players this season for a Milan side that have found themselves struggling and currently sit in 11th place. On Sunday the club suffered their heaviest defeat in 21 years, losing 5-0 to Atalanta.
According to RMC Sport, Milan want €35 million for the Rio-born midfielder, the same amount that the Serie A outfit paid from him in last season’s January transfer window.
However, the final decision would have to be taken by player himself, who would be undoubtedly aware of the difficulty he would find in securing a regular starting place at PSG.
