REAL MADRID - ATLÉTICO
Real Madrid complete last session ahead of Super Cup final
The first 15 minutes of the session were open to the public and the media before they closed the doors to work on tactical preparation ahead of the Atlético game.
Real Madrid completed their final training on Saturday ahead of the Spanish Super Cup final against Atlético Madrid at King Abdullah Sports Center on Sunday. Zidane's side took advantage of the facilities at Al Ittihad Jeddah Club, where they have been training since landing in Saudi Arabia during the week.
The first 15 minutes were open to the public and the media but after that, doors were closed as they prepared for what will be the fifth Madrid derbi outside of Spain in the last six years.
The training was watched over by Florentino Pérez, the president of the club, who arrived in Jeddah on Friday afternoon to attend the final against Atlético.
23 players trained with Zidane on Saturday, his entire panel. They started the session with a warm-up including ball work along with some physical work beforehand. They played a small-sided game and ended the session with some technical work.
Zidane worke with his starting eleven for the final and could make a change or two with respect to the semi-final against Valencia. The return of Marcelo in place of Ferland Mendy is a possibility given the Brazilian is back to full fitness and is the starting left-back.
The structure of Zidane's team is also an area that could be changed. Zidane could try out five in the middle of the field again to control the ball. It remains to be seen if he will add another player alongside Luka Jovic or go with more midfielders.
If he does opt for a two-man attack, Rodryo and Vinicius, or Lucas Vazquez could be called upon. After that, the team should remain the same as Zidane looks to secure the ninth trophy of his career and his second Super Cup after winning it in 2017 against Barcelona.
