Kobe Bryant: six further victims of helicopter accident identified
In addition to the NBA star and his daughter, college baseball coach John Altobelli, his wife and two of Gianna Bryant's teammates were on board the craft.
Seven other victims of the helicopter accident that cut short the lives of former LA Lakers star Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna on Sunday in Calabasas, Los Angeles, have been identified.

There were a total of 10 people aboard the Sikorsky S-76B aircraft when it went down on Sunday morning. The identity of the pilot remains undisclosed and an investigation into the causes of the crash is underway. It is believed the party were travelling to a basketball game involving Bryant’s daughter at the academy the NBA star ran on the outskirts of the city.
Kobe Bryant
Bryant played across 20 seasons for Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA, picking up five championship rings during that time. His wife, Vanessa, and he had four children, Natalia (17), Gianna, Bianka (3) and Capri, who was born last June.
The former Lakers star was 41 when he died on Sunday. He retired from basketball in 2016 with a crowd-stopping display against Utah Jaz at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, when he scored 60 points.
Bryant was due to be inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame this year.
Gianna Bryant
Bryant’s daughter was seen as the heir to his basketball legacy and the former Lakers player was dedicated to preparing her for a career in the professional game. Gianna was a fixture at games at the Staples Center with her father and her ambition was to play for the UConn Huskies.
John Altobelli
A former University of Houston baseball player, Altobelli played in Minor League Baseball for the Miami Marlins before embarking on a coaching career with Orange State College, guiding the Pirates to state championships in 2009, 2014, 2015, and 2019. Last year he was named national coach of the year by the American Baseball Coaches Association and won his 700th game in the same season.
