The Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) have revealed five key areas relating to sustainability at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in the Gulf nation.

The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (the entity responsible for overseeing all construction and infrastructure projects for the 2022 FIFA World Cup have highlighted five key areas relating to a sustainable 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

850,000m squared of new green spaces will surround all stadiums with the objective of reducing air contamination. These spaces will have public parks that fans can use before and after games as is the situation at the recently inaugurated Al-Bayt stadium.

As as agreed from the outset, the Ras Abu Abboud stadium will be be the first World Cup stadium ever to be completely dismantled after the tournament. Parts from ground will be used in other projects in Qatar.

Upon the conclusion of the tournament, a large quantity of seats from the 2022 World Cup stadiums will be sent to other nations to help develop new local sporting facilities.

90% of all elements from the Ahmed Bin Ali stadium (the former home of QSL side Al-Rayyan) are being used to create the new Al-Rayyan ground, which will be one of the eight World Cup stadiums which will be used in 2022.
