10 second clip shows how staying at home stops Covid-19 spreading
Infection spreads exponentially and that can only be slowed and eventually stopped by socially distancing, staying at home and taking all necessary hygienic precautions.
This simple 10-second clip demonstrates how the coronavirus spreads exponentially - which means many people can suddenly become infected at once and continue to spread the virus themselves to others.
In the first segment, the grey line leads to a person who is working from home and so cannot spread the Covid-19 virus - the other two pink lines represent people who have become infected and start infecting others.
In the second segment, after possible contact with eight people, two more have managed to avoid infection - one for decided not to attend a barbecue, the other for cancelling a flight.
In the final segment, with the possibility of 40 people becoming infected, the chain is slowed because someone decided to stay at home and not go out.
But reducing contact with other people, the coronavirus has less chances of spreading. Also remember to wear a protective mask and gloves if you go outside and wash your hands thoroughly when you return home.
