Player ratings: FC Barcelona vs Sevilla FC

Ter Stegen: The German keeper was rarely called into action in the first half but was Barcelona's saviour in the second period depriving both Munir and Ocampos from putting the home side ahead with two fine reflex saves.

Nelson Semedo: The Portuguese defender delivered an accomplished performance and offered an attacking threat on the right flank for Setien's men.

Pique: The central defender was carded and could have been awarded a red after an elbow on Reguilon on the box towards the end of the first half. As with the rest of the Barça side, seem to tire as the match progressed. After the match his words about winning LaLiga were not positive.

Lenglet: Delivered a solid defensive performance and linked up well with Pique with the French defender never really outsmarted by the Andalusian side.

Jordi Alba: A constant outlet for the Catalan side in forward attacks and forays into the opposition half, the Spanish left back was competent in both defensive and offensive duties.

Busquets: Another player who appeared to tire as the game developed. Along with Pique, was the other Barcelona man to work his way into the referee's book after a tangle with Sevilla defender Fernando towards the end of the first 45'.

Vidal: The Chilean was instrumental in much of the expansive and positive play employed by the Catalan side in the first period and was ultimately substituted in the 77th minute for the fresh legs of Griezmann.

Rakitic: Delivered an excellent first half an hour where he was at the heart of Barcelona's build-up play and along with the rest oif the side, wilted somewhat as the game wore on and was subbed late on by Setien for Puig.

Messi: The Argentine came close on two occasions from dead balls in either half and cast a frustrated figure when Gonzalez Gonzalez called time at the end of 90 minutes. The Argentine despite never throwing in the towel showed signs of fatigue as the game wore on.

Luis Suarez: The Uruguayan was presented with one of the few chances that fell the way of the Catalan side in the second half but rifled over from close quarters. Despite still finding his way back from the long lay off via injury, we've yet to see the Luis Suarez of old.

Braithwaite: A surprise inclusion in the starting line-up, the Danish player was energetic in tracking vack and assisting the South American striking duo but failed to carve out a chance and was the first player sacrificed by Setien making way for Arthur just after the hour mark.

Substitutes:

Arthur: Despite linking up well as his team tired, the Brazilian was accomplished in a poor second half for his Barcelona team.

Griezmann: A discreet performance from the French striker who was the surprise omission by Quique Setien ahead of the game when the starting XI was announced.

Puig: The youth academy talent rarely had any time to impose himself on the game.
