One story overshadows this weekend's Brickyard 400 event (sponsored by Big Machine Records) at Indianapolis Motor Speedway with the news which emerged on Friday as it was confirmed that seven-time Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson has become the first NASCAR driver to test positive for Covid-19.

Johnson, who will not return to competition until being cleared by a medic, has not experienced Covid-19 symptoms and was tested upon learning earlier on Friday that his wife had tested positive after having allergy-like symptoms.

Trump campaign sponsorship at NASCAR Brickyard 400

Sunday's race will also see United States president Donald Trump's re-election bid will pick up speed with Trump 2020 campaign the primary sponsor of Corey LaJoie's car for NASCAR's Brickyard 400.

Go Fas Racing announced earlier in the week that they had entered into a partnership with Patriots of America PAC, a pro-Donald Trump Political Action Committee, for nine races, including the Cup Series race at the Brickyard.
