LA Galaxy legend: “They say that Chicharito isn't a good player”

Javier Hernández has played three official games with Los Angeles Galaxy and he has only scored one goal. His performances have not been the best in those games with the Mexican striker even misseing a penalty in the game against Portland Timbers in the first game of the team in the MLS is Back tournament.

Many fans and journalists have criticized Chicharito’s performance with the LA Galaxy but on the team’s legends Carlos Ruiz came out to defend the striker, “I don’t understand why people say he is not a good footballer. You can’t say that he is only with the LA Galaxy to sell jerseys

...when I was playing with Puebla I played against him when he was with Chivas and I saw how good he was at a young age. I don’t agree when people say he only sells jerseys,” said Ruiz during an interview with Fernando Cevallos in MLS Sin Muros.

Chicharito is not like Zlatan

The 2002 MLS Cup MVP said that people should not compare Chicharito with Zlatan Ibrahimovic who scored many goals in big games but didn’t win any titles with LA Galaxy. “I insist Chicharito needs time to adapt to the league because he has proved he can score many goals. Carlos Vela didn’t need time to adapt but they are different players with different styles

...Chicharito 's best quality is to score goals inside the box so the team needs to create better situations to give him the ball and that takes time. I have no doubt that once he finds his rhythm he will score a lot of goals for the team,” said Ruiz.

Carlos Ruiz also said during the interview that Chicharito has everything to become the MVP of Major League Soccer and he will end up scoring 20 or 30 goals in one whole season. Also he is happy that the striker scored his first goal because that gives him more confidence for the next games.
