Barcelona Gamper squad: Pjanic and Fati in... Puig, Suarez and Vidal out
The major talking point from Ronald Koeman's squad ahead of the game against Elche was the absence of the central player with no medical issues reported by the Catalan side.
The exclusion by Ronald Koeman to omit Riqui Puig from the FC Barcelona squad ahead of tonight's Gamper pre-season match against Elche (19:00 CEST start) at Camp Nou has raised a few eye brows among Barça fans. At present, the club have yet to issue any details surrounding fitness issues so it would point to the decision being purely on a technical basis.
Both Miralem Pjanic and Ansu Fati are included in the list with the former Juve player set to make his debut in a Barcelona shirt. Fati will be in action for the club for the first time this pre-season after missing previous games with a hip issue.
Also absent from Koeman's list are: Rafinha Alcántara, Moussa Wagué, Luis Suárez and Arturo Vidal with all four facing exits from Camp Nou.
