REAL MADRID 4 - HUESCA 1

Real Madrid player ratings after 4-1 win over Huesca

Real Madrid recorded a comfortable home win over Huesca on Saturday afternoon thanks to a Benzema brace, Hazard screamer and Valverde's third league goal of the season.

Update:

Real Madrid recorded a comfortable 4-1 win over Huesca on Saturday afternoon, and move top of the table ahead of Real Sociedad. Two goals either side of the break gave Madrid a good win over a brave Huesca, who lacked quality in front of goal to take an early lead in the first half. Madrid's quality came through on 40 minutes with a wonderful strike from Hazard. Here we take a look at today's performances.

Courtois

Quite a comfortable afternoon for the Belgian keeper. He could not do anything for Ferreiro's strike. 6/10

Lucas Vázquez

His performances as a right-back have been impressive. Very good in defence and offers plenty in attack. The experienced Galician provided the assist for Benzema to make it 2-0. 7/10

Militão

Lost race with Rafa Mir at the start of the game resurrected his worst nightmares, but soon after everything returned to normal. Played alongside captain Ramos this time out, which makes your life easier. 6/10

Ramos

Completed his 500th league game. Was involved in plenty going forward, coming out from the back and starting attacks. In the 24th minute, he connected with a cross sent in from Marcelo, which was well saved by Fernández. 7/10

Marcelo

Played a brilliant curling cross to the back post for Rodrygo to set up Benzema for the fourth goal of the game. Looked solid throughout, offering his usual attacking support. 7/10

Casemiro

Sent a couple of passes astray in the first half, but provided the protection to allow Valverde and Modric to roam forward and create play. Subbed in the 68th minute with on eye on Inter midweek. 6/10

Valverde

Scored a great goal from a fine Karim Benzema assist, striking low and hard into the far bottom corner for his third league goal of the season. Seems to become more important for Zidane as the weeks pass. Energy, simplicity and drive. 8/10

Modric

In the first half he gave a masterclass on passes with the outside of his right boot, both short and long. Very involved throughout and kept the home side ticking over with his intelligence. 7/10

Asensio

His natural move is to turn inside, which raises the question of whether this is the right wing is for him, but Zidane seems to think so. From the left he can be more effective with crosses being on his stronger left foot, but Hazard has returned and will occupy the left attacking position. Of the three forwards, he was the quietest. 6/10

Benzema

Scored for the second game in a row. Certainly a relief for Zidane. A left-footed volley before the break put Madrid in the driving seat and his 90th minute header made it four. Set up Valverde with a lovely chip. Strong display from the Frenchman. 8/10

Hazard

He unlocked the game with a goal from nowhere from a 30-yard strike on his left foot - his first Real Madrid goal in 392 days. Getting the goal will be good for his confidence after a hugely difficult first season with Madrid. 7/10

Substitutes

Mendy

Replaced Lucas Vázquez at right-back. The Frenchman was a threat going forward, bringing speed and energy against a tiring Huesca side. 7/10

Isco

New look, this time with a ponytail. Zidane doesn't hold a grudge against him for his recent comments made regarding his role under Zidane. He's smart and knows that he will end up needing him. Got involved in the build-up play when on. 7/10

Rodrygo

Some good play from the right and an assist to Benzema from a headed cross. Had a good chance to make it five right at the death. 7/10

Vinicius Jr

Sent a nice ball through for Benzema but the striker sent his volley over the bar. Good to get some minutes under his belt after a tough week in the news. 6/10

Kroos

He went out to slow things down and keep Madrid ticking over. 6/10
