New imposing Santiago Bernabéu starting to take shape

Real Madrid continue to play home games at their Valdebebas ground while work continues on the Santiago Bernabeu.

The latest  images show the huge cranes working on the construction of the new roof and the upper sections of the stadium. Also visible are the trucks which bring in building materials for the new stands. The lower section of the stadium has been almost completely removed. Work continues at a brisk pace while the team continues to play both LaLiga and UEFA Champions League fixtures at their Alfredo Di Stefano ground at the Valdebebeas complex.

At present, the club have not offered a date as to when competitive action will resume at the Bernabeu with part of the decision set to be based on the health situation as Madrid and the country come to terms with the second wave of the covid-19 pandemic.

The club shop at the Bernabeu has now re-opened for business after construction work saw the retail unit closed on a temporary basis.
