Willing to acquire some new titles? During The Game Awards 2020 PlayStation, Steam, Xbox, Epic, and Nintendo have prepared several discounts for their digital stores. Geoff Keighley shows us where to find them.
As in any gaming event, rumors have begun cropping up across social media in recent days. Hidetaka Miyazaki's and George R.R. Martin's Elden Ring is one of the names which many users are speculating over since they haven't had any news of it since E3 2019.
Besides the awards, the event will also include world premieres, musical performances, and "of course a few surprises!"
Ghost of Tsushima has been one of the protagonists this week. The Sucker Punch's action-adventure game set in Japan in the late 13th century has won the popular player's vote already. This can be a good advantage towards getting the highest recognition since the organizing company states that "winners are determined by a blended vote between the voting jury (90%) and public fan voting (10%)".
What to expect from The Game Awards 2020?
The Game Awards 2020 will once again primarily celebrate the world of gaming. It’s an opportunity to reward the best titles and personalities from the industry across 30 categories voted for by more than 90 media outlets from all around the world. But the category which attracts the attention of most avid gamers is the Game of the Year award, the one that recognizes the industry's best title. This year, the six finalists are:
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons
- Doom Eternal
Final Fantasy VII Remake
-Ghost of Tsushima
- Hades
- The Last of Us Part II

The event will be broadcast via live streaming from international locations in Los Angeles, London, and Tokyo.
The event is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT. with a 30 min pre-show featuring musical performances. After that, the ceremony hosted by Geoff Keighley (its creator) will take off and there will be some well-known faces among the presenters: the actors Tom Holland, Brie Larson, Gal Gadot, Keanu Reeves, and Josh David Washington as well as the world-acclaimed filmmaker, Christopher Nolan. And of course, the charismatic former president of Nintendo of America, Reggie Fils-Aime won't miss the date, among others.
