Lucas Zelarayan the MVP of the 2020 MLS Cup
The Argentine midfielder scored a brace against Seattle Sounders to give Columbus Crew their second MLS Cup in the 25th season of Major League Soccer.
Columbus Crew defeated 3-0 Seattle Sounders in the 2020 MLS Cup final at the MAPFRE stadium on Saturday night. Lucas Zelarayan was named the MVP at the end of the 90 minutes after scoring a brace that helped the franchise lift their second title in their history.
The Argentine arrived this season from Tigres UANL and according to SofaScore he got a rating of 9.9 in the final against the Sounders. He also gave the assist to Derrick Etienne Jr. who scored the second goal of the game, in what was a perfect night for the midfielder in the most important game of the season.
Zelarayan played the entire 90 minutes and after lifting the trophy, Columbus ended a 12-year drought since their first title. During his first season in Major League Soccer, Zelarayan scored a total of seven goals and three assists in 21 appearances.
