Neymar: images of PSG star's latest superhero tattoos leaked
Images circulating on social media show that Neymar has added two more superhero tattoos to accompany his existing Spiderman and Batman pieces.
His omission from the list of the three finalists for FIFA’s The Best 2020 award served as a blow for Neymar, who appeared to expressed his disapproval with a series of cryptic tweets during the week.
“Now that tennis hasn’t worked out, I’ve moved on to basketball,” said the PSG star, later adding “I’ve already given up basketball and now I’m a Gamer” – with his words presumably in reference to his absence from the award nominations, which were handed to Cristiano Ronaldo, Roberto Lewandowski and Lionel Messi.
Following the announcement, Neymar decided to put his disappointment behind him by enjoying one of his favourite hobbies – tattoos.
The Brazilian headed to Nautica Tattoo in Paris, where two Brazilian tattoo artists were tasked with adding two more pieces to the PSG’s stars already heavily inked-up body, with one going on his right leg and the other one on his back.
More superhero tattoos for Neymar
The former Barcelona footballer has adorned his body with several artworks, ranging from crosses and football motifs to animals and superheroes.
And to accompany the Batman and Spiderman pieces that were already on his back, Neymar has added another well-known super hero to his spinal region with Goku, the main protagonist of the Dragon Ball cartoon series that was hugely popular in the 1990s. Meanwhile, another Dragon Ball character, Vegata, has been added to his right thigh.
One of the tattoo artists, Gilmar Araujo, shared some images of both works but Neymar himself has yet to publish photos of the finished pieces.
From the photos, it also seems that Neymar will add another tattooed message to his body, although all we know from the images is that it begins with the word “People”.
Motivational words are another running theme of Neymar’s inkwork. Among the phrases already etched onto the PSG’s star body are: “Everything passes”, “1% opportunity and 99% faith”, and “Be strong and brave, do not be discouraged or afraid because I, the Lord, your God, will be with you everywhere. "
