Juventus eyeing several MLS players as potential signings

Weston McKennie arrived at Juventus for the 2020/21 season and he made an immediate impact becoming a regular starter for head coach Andrea Pirlo. The 22-year old has scored two goals and provided two assists in 14 appearances with the Old Lady.

Potential signings for the next transfer window

His good performances have made Juventus turn their eye to Major League Soccer players. According to a report from Tuttosport, the Italian giants are keeping tabs on a young MLS quartet for the next transfer window. According to the news outlet, Juventus are watching Cade Clark (New York Red Bulls), Julian Araujo (LA Galaxy), Bryan Reynolds (FC Dallas) and Ricardo Pepi (FC Dallas).

The idea is to sign one of these players for next season due to the success McKennie, who is on loan from FC Schalke 04, has had with the team. A previous report had also linked Reynolds to Juventus, but MLS soccer.com stated that FC Dallas had received a $9.2 million bid from AS Roma for the right back.

Julian Araujo

The LA Galaxy defender made his debut with the United States men’s national team in the 6-0 victory against El Salvador in the last friendly of the year played earlier this month. The 19-year-old made his permanent move to LA Galaxy’s first team in 2019 and he can also play as a right midfielder.

Cade Clark

The 17-year-old signed with New York Red Bulls’ first team in October and he made an immediate impact by scoring three goals in eight appearances during the regular season. Clark is a versatile midfielder and he impressed head coach Luchi Gonzalez in the USL Championship with NYRB II.

Ricardo Pepi

The United States striker had an impressive season with FC Dallas II in the USL League One in 2018 and the next year he made a permanent move to the first team. In the 2020 Major League Soccer season he scored one goal and gave one assist in 19 appearances.
