Chelsea are in fifth place, one point behind West Ham in the coveted Champions League fourth spot.

Man United are now in second place and 12 points behind league leaders and cross-city rivals Man City, with the Manchester derby coming next weekend.

Tuchel goes nine games unbeaten with Chelsea!

FT: Chelsea 0-0 Manchester United

Fred strikes! palmed away by Mendy!

Kovacic strikes but it just dribbles towards De Gea.

Chelsea have a free-kick with 60 seconds left.

90+

There will be 3 extra minutes after the 90.

89

We're inside the last two minutes of the 90.

85

Werner drives a left-footed shot low and hard. De Gea drops to his knees and gathers it comfortably. 0-0

84

Chelsea chance!

Lindelof clears as Werner is breathing down his neck, ready to pounce on a superb cross from Reece James.

Man United are heading for back-to-back 0-0 draws, after their scoreless draw versus Real Sociedad in the Europa League on Thursday.

Ziyech is off for Chelsea - definitely not his best day at the office.

Man United change:

OFF Greenwood

Chelsea change:

OFF Ziyech

ON Werner

United do look like a different side with Cavani in the team. The Uruguayan has been seriously missed today. They've lacked that attacking focal point.

74

Kovacic keeps his effort on target from 25 yards but it's an easy one for De Gea.

72

Another Chelsea attack breaks down and Tuchel is getting really frustrated on the touchline. 0-0

68

Fred curls one just past the goalpost - Solskjaer enjoyed that one - giving the thumps up to the Brazilian.

67

Chelsea continue to dominate the game with possession but aren't really threatening United.

65

Chelsea change:

OFF Giroud

ON Pulisic

It remains 0-0 as we pass the hour mark.

61

Mendy denies McTominay!

United win the ball high up the pitch - the ball falls to the Scot, but Mendy gets down well to stop the effort.

60

Greenwood strikes!

Wide and over from the young forward. Hits it well but Mendy doesn't have to budge.

Chelsea with all the possession but really failing to make it count. United's only outlet is to hit them on the break with the speed of Rashford, Greenwood and James.

55

Chelsea have lost possession twice in the last couple of minutes by sending balls out of the play. Reece James the latest to do it.

Chelsea are looking the brighter so far in the early stages of the second half.

Fun fact: Reece James' sister Lauren James plays for Manchester United's women team. Who will she be cheering on this evening?

Fred picks up a yellow and is lucky that's not a red.

48

De Gea makes up for his earlier mistake. Best chance of the game for Chelsea!

Brilliant save from De Gea to deny Ziyech!

Chelsea change

OFF Calum Hudson-Odoi

ON Reece James

And we're underway for the second half!

RIP Glenn Roeder

Very sad news in this evening, with the passing of former Premier League manager Glenn Roeder.

HT: Chelsea 0-0 Manchester United

45

There will be two minutes added on at the end of the first half.

41

Man United's corner is eventually cleared by Chelsea.

Fernandes shoots from outside the box! it takes a deflection and leads to a corner.

There are no fans here today but there has been talk this week that we will see fans in stadiums before the end of the current season. Something we're all very excited about!

36

Excellent chance for Giroud! - he flies into a diving header - but fails to connect with the ball and ends up in the nets. Still 0-0. So close for Giroud. Wonderful cross from Hudson-Odoi.

These sides are very familiar with each other. They have faced each other 11 times in 3 years, with a couple of FA Cup matches in there too.

We know what the half-time chat will be about.

32

De Gea passes the ball straight to Giroud's foot but the Frenchman buries his left-footed shot high and wide. De Gea gets away with that one. A proper shank.

31

We've just passed the halfhour mark at Stamford Bridge and it remains 0-0.

Chelsea have drawn two and won six of their eight matches in all competitions since Thomas Tuchel replaced Frank Lampard in the Stamford Bridge dugout on January 26, scoring 10 goals and conceding just twice.

25

There have been plenty of niggly fouls in the opening 25 minutes, which has disrupted the flow of the game somewhat.

This Chelsea side does contain so much talent so we can expect a few more chances like that one.

21

CHELSEA CHANCE!

Super strike from Hudson-Odoi, which sees his volley from the edge of the box just fly by De Gea's post.

18

Giroud gets clattered by Lindelof. It's a free to Chelsea. Giroud is ok though.

This has all led to a hot ball being given. Still 0-0

15

Hudson-Odoi looks to have handled the ball but it's not a penalty for Man United.

There's a VAR check now for a possible Man United penalty.

Rashford strikes the free-kick superbly and Mendy does well to push it away.

12

There has been a nasty clash between Mount and McTominay, they seem to have caught each other. Man United free-kick about 30 yards from goal.

9

Lindelof manages to clear the danger, with Hudson-Odoi's cross heading for Giroud.

Mount has been lively for Chelsea so far, linking up well with Ziyech.

6

Chelsea have had the majority of the ball in the opening 5 minutes. United still looking to get into their own flow.

It's a beautiful day in London, hopefully we see some beautiful football at the Bridge.

Christensen is anchoring the back 3 for Chelsea this evening.

This one has a 'big game' feel about it.

3

Mount picks out Giroud at the back post but brilliant defending from Shaw to take it off his head.

Man United are playing from left to right in the first half.

We're underway!

The players are on their way out at Stamford Bridge. Harry Maguire is leading the Man United boys out.

We're 10 minutes away from kick-off in London!

Chelsea flying since Tuchel's appointment

Chelsea have drawn two and won six of their eight matches in all competitions since Thomas Tuchel replaced Frank Lampard in the Stamford Bridge dugout on January 26, scoring 10 goals and conceding just twice.

Tuchel's men have moved to within six points of second-placed United, who enter the clash at Stamford Bridge on a club-record 19-game unbeaten streak on their travels in the Premier League.

That run started with a victory in this fixture 12 months ago and Maguire is hopeful of picking up another triumph in west London this weekend, with United going in search of back-to-back league wins at Stamford Bridge for the first time since 1995.

Chelsea vs Man United

This fixture has seen many crackers over the years and Gary Neville has been involved in his fair share for Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.

Maguire

Maguire hoping to break Chelsea's unbeaten run

Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has been impressed by Thomas Tuchel's work at Chelsea but is determined to "spoil" the Blues' unbeaten run when the sides meet on Sunday.

Chelsea have drawn two and won six of their eight matches in all competitions since Tuchel replaced Frank Lampard in the Stamford Bridge dugout on January 26, scoring 10 goals and conceding just twice.

"Chelsea's obviously going to be a tough game but we went there last year and won and we will be looking to do that again," he told the club's official website.

"They are keeping their position very nicely and build up really well and not conceding many goals, so it is a good start. We are hoping to spoil that.

"It is a great reaction [to the change of manager]. They are a great group of players with tons of talent and the money they spent in the summer, they are starting to gel, starting to tick, but we have got to look at ourselves, first and foremost.

"We go into the game full of confidence, full of belief. We will make sure we play to the ability of what we are capable of and go and get the three points."

solskjaer

Solskjaer's pre-match thoughts:

"Chelsea are always one of the favourites every season for the last 20 seasons. We’ve prepared well, we’ve managed to get a few players off [rested on Thursday night] so we should be ready for this game."

On Tuchel

"You can see a certain style he wants to play. He’s had fantastic results since he came and of course we know we’re playing against a team with confidence and they’re in form. He’s a manager who can do different things so we’ve just got to prepare for every scenario possible."

Tuchel

Tuchel: "We're a strong group, have strong competitors and that makes us hard to beat"

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel said ahead of the United clash that his team are far from being a finished product although they are a tougher side for opponents to play against since he took charge.

Chelsea are unbeaten in eight matches in all competitions since Tuchel replaced club great Frank Lampard last month after the German guided them to a 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League last-16 first leg on Tuesday.

Tuchel has focused on shoring up Chelsea's defence in his efforts to make them more consistent and the London side have conceded only two goals in their last eight games.

"I think it's not a pleasure to play against us but the picture isn't finished. We have a long way to go," he told a news conference ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash at home to Manchester United.

"There's no other way to stay hungry, improve every day... there's lots to improve. I can clearly feel the energy of my team. We're a strong group, have strong competitors and that makes us hard to beat. Football is a team effort."

Bruno

Fernandes key to United's chances of winning at Stamford Bridge

Bruno Fernandes will be a key factor in Sunday's clash against fifth-placed Chelsea, with both sides fighting to make the top four and secure Champions League berths.

The 26-year-old currently sits second for assists in the 2020-21 Premier League campaign with 10, only one behind Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne and Tottenham's Harry Kane.

Fernandes provided his 10th Premier League assist of the season against Newcastle United last time out, becoming only the fourth different United player to reach double figures for both goals (15) and assists in a single Premier League campaign, after Eric Cantona (three times), Dwight Yorke (1998-99) and Wayne Rooney (five times).

Chelsea boss Tuchel reveals PSG tried to sign Man Utd's Bruno Fernandes

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel revealed Paris Saint-Germain tried to sign Bruno Fernandes before he joined Manchester United with devastating impact last year.

Speaking ahead of Chelsea's Premier League clash with rivals United, Tuchel explained that during his time as PSG head coach from 2018 to late 2020, the Ligue 1 champions tried to lure Fernandes to Paris.

The Portugal international was captain of Sporting CP at the time, but eventually signed for United in January 2020 and has since scored 34 goals in 60 appearances across all competitions.

"With my first sporting director in Paris, Antero Henrique, a Portuguese sporting director, and he knew [Fernandes] very well," Tuchel told reporters.

"We fought hard to have a connection to him and to bring him to our team. I got made aware of him more in detail, so we watched more and more games about him and followed him and tried to be in touch with him to make it happen.

"Obviously, he decided [to sign for Manchester United] and I was never personally in touch with him, but we tried and he went another way. [It is] bad for us that we have to play against him."
