Barcelona vs Sevilla: match report; as it happened
Barcelona overturned a 2-0 first-leg deficit against Sevilla in dramatic fashion at Camp Nou on Wednesday to book their place in the Copa del Rey final.
After taking an early lead in the game thanks to an Ousmane Dembélé wonder strike, Barcelona piled on the pressure against the visitors and a second Barcelona goal looked almost inevitable.
But before that vital second goal had come, Sevilla were awarded a penalty in the 71st minute after Oscar Mingueza body-checked Lucas Ocampos in the box, leaving the Argentine winger with a chance to wrap up the tie for the visitors. However, Ocampos was unable to beat Ter Stegen and Barcelona marched on in search of the second goal.
After a period of relentless pressure with the game deep in injury time, Barcelona’s inevitable second goal eventually would come when Gerard Piqué got his head on the end of an Antoine Griezmann cross to send the game to extra time with the aggregate score at 2-2. Then, with just four minutes of extra time played, substitute Martin Braithwaite made it 3-2 with a brilliant diving header after Jordi Alba did well to pick out the Danish striker with a cross from the left.
Sevilla remained very much in the tie and one goal would have been enough to see them through on away goals. The visitors had genuine claims for a penalty – following a slight Clement Lenglet handball in the box in the 99th minute – ruled out by VAR, much to the frustrations of the Sevilla players and coach Julen Lopetegui, who spent a sizeable part of the game furiously protesting at referee José María Sánchez Martínez.
Aside from a well-struck long-range shot from Jules Kounde that Ter Stegen saved with ease on 119’, Sevilla did little else to trouble Barcelona for the final eleven minutes of extra time, after which Barcelona celebrated with jubilation following their dramatic comeback. Somewhat uncharacteristically, Lionel Messi did not provide a goal or assist in the game. Nevertheless, the Argentine captain’s role was once again instrumental on an epic night for El Blaugrana.
It was Barca’s second win against Lopetegui’s side in the space of five days after the 2-0 league win at the Pizjuán on Saturday. Having closed the gap on league leaders Atlético to five points and booked their place in the Copa del Rey final, the two victories against Sevilla could mark a turning point in what has been a tough season for Koeman’s men, who, after Wednesday’s dramatic comeback in the Copa semi-final, will no doubt go to Paris with genuine belief that they can overturn a 4-1 deficit against PSG – however unlikely that may be.

Barcelona have now reached the Copa del Rey final in 10 of the last 11 times when they have played the semifinals (all except in 2013 vs Real Madrid). Challenge.

Piqué to the rescue
Gerard Piqué will go down as the hero on the night, with his headed goal deep into injury time sending the game the extra time following Dembélé's wonder strike in the first half. Braithwaite then wrapped things up just four minutes into extra time with another headed goal.

Peep, peep, peep! It's all over. Barcelona are through to the Copa del Rey final after overturning Sevilla's 2-0 lead from the first leg.
Kounde shoots! It's a decent effort from the edge of the box but Ter Stegen is down fast to collect.
Danger for Barcelona as a cross comes in from the left towards Sevilla defender Kounde by the far post. He jumps high but it sails over his head and Barca have the goal kick.
Trincao beats one, two, three Sevilla defenders in the box before his shot is blocked by a fourth. That was Messi-esque from the young Portuguese.
Seven minutes to go with Sevilla needing a goal but they first need the ball.
Worrying for Barcelona as Pique has had to hobble off holding his knee. But hang on ... he's waving to say he's ok to comeback on.
Second period of extra time underway!
Peep! First period of extra time is over as Barcelona lead 3-2 on aggregate after Braithwaite's diving header goal on 104'. Sevilla have been incensed since VAR ruled out their penalty claim a few minutes ago. They need to calm now as they are still very much in this tie. They have 15 minutes to find a goal, which would would give them the tie.
Frustrations boiling over now for Sevilla as De Jong, who went off some time ago, is shown a red card for protesting from the stands. He heads to the dressing room.
VAR checking a Sevilla penalty claim for a Lenglet handball inside the box. In the end, VAR rules no penalty and rightfully so as Lenglet barely and unintentionally touched the ball with his hand as it came across his chest.
GOAL BARCELONA!!! BRAITHWAITE HEADS HOME!
Messi plays the ball wide to Alba on the left. Alba puts a cross into a dangerous anyway towards Braithwaite, who is on hand with the diving header at the edge of the six-yard area and the ball sneaks past Vaclik.
First shot of extra time comes from Barca sub Junior Firpo after he's teed up by Grizemann, but his shot is weak and easily saved by Vaclik.

Barcelona's relentless pressure finally pays off as Griezmann puts a cross in from the left that finds Piqué, who drives his header into the bottom right corner. Extra time beckons!
Messi goes straight for goal with the free kick and it's out for a corner.
Yellow card for Fernando for a foul on Trincao and Barca have a free-kick from a dangerous area.
Four minutes added on as Barcelona look to finding the aggregate equaliser.
Braithwaite and Trincao are on to replace Dembele and Pedri. Trincao is straight into the action and wins a corner.
Barcelona are all over Sevilla now, a succession of attempts have come in the last three minutes but nothing has really troubled Vaclik in goal.
Messi to De Jong; De Jong back to Messi at the edge of the box. The Argentine scoops a ball towards Moriba, whose weak headed attempt is saved.
A promising Barca move ends as Dembélé blasts a shot high and wide and towards row Z. Wasteful from the Frenchman.
Sevilla change: Gomez comes on for Suso. Busquets also made way for Moriba for Barca a few minutes ago.
Backs to the wall for Sevilla as Barcelona players pile around the edge of the visitor's box, passing it around. Eventually Messi, well inside the area, has a chance as a ball comes over the top but the captain has to stretch to get a toe to the ball and his volley is saved by Vaclik with ease.
Ter Stegen saves the penalty!
Ocampos goes for the bottom-left corner but the Barca keeper guesses right and saves. That would have been more than likely game over had it gone in but Barca march on in search of the goal that will bring this game to extra time.
Sevilla have a penalty!
Mingueza body-checks Ocampos in the box and that's a clear-as-day penalty. Barca a furious but they really can't complain.
Very disappointing from Griezmann, who after being released by Dembélé, can only muster a tame shot that goes straight at Vaclik, when there were options to his left. Poor stuff from the out-of-favour Frenchman.
Jordi Alba hits the crossbar!
Wow! What a goal that would have been. Dembélé floats a ball across the box towards Alba, whose first-time scissor-kick volley rifles the crossbar. Super strike from the Barca veteran.
Messi lets fly from distance, but a couple of Sevilla bodies on hand to block the shot.
Sevilla change as Oliver Torres makes way for Ocampos. Koeman also looks to add more in attack as he brings on Griezmann for Dest. Barcelona now have three up front now with Griezmann, Dembélé and Messi. If they don't score again, they're out.
Barcelona applying pressure as they go in search of the vital second goal, but they have yet to test the Sevilla keeper in this second half.
Three changes for Sevilla as Acuna, De Jong and Vidal make way for Navas, Rakitic and Rekik.
First shot of the second half comes from Sevilla, as Oliver Torres has a shot blocked after a quick break on the counter from the visitors. A rare attack from them as they have hardly been in this game so far.

Peep, peep, peep! Half time at Camp Nou. Barcelona absolutely bossed that first half. They lead 1-0, but Sevilla are still 2-1 ahead on aggregate.
Sevilla enjoying a rare bit of possession. They'll just be wanting to hear the half-time whistle now as they look to regroup for the second half. They've had their work cut in the first 45 and will count themselves lucky its only 1-0.
The fact that all 10 of Barcelona's outfield players were in Sevilla's half as the visitor's cleared their lines from a Messi delivered-free kick, is indicative of the pressure Koeman's side is applying at the moment.
Messi weaves his way towards the six yard area and tries a shot, which is deflected and cleared off the line by Acuna.
Some nice link-up play between Messi and Jordi Alba before the latter plays a low cross from the left towards De Jong by the penalty spot. Again De Jong can't get a shot as a Sevilla leg comes in to clear the danger.
Twenty-five minutes gone here and Barcelona have come out all guns blazing as they look to overturn the 2-0 deficit. They have already clawed back one as a result of the relentless pressure on Sevilla's goal.
Dest finds De Jong in the box, who ends up on the floor before he has a chance to get a shot off. No complaints from Barca after the challenge from Fernando that sent De Jong to the ground.
GOAL BARCELONA!! A PEACH FROM DEMBELE!
The Barcelona onslaught ends with a goal from Dembélé, who fires a rocket into the near top corner from distance after fending off the challenges of several defenders. Breathtaking stuff from the French striker.
Barcelona again test Vaclik as Messi strikes from an acute angle on the left. Lenglet was in front of the keeper and tried to help the ball in.
Gorgeous build-up play from Barcelona ends with Dest teeing up Busquets for a shot inside the box. It's on target bit straight at Vaclik.
First moment of danger comes from Barcelona as Pedri releases Dembélé, who takes a touch to advance into the box before driving his shot over the near upright. The play was almost a carbon copy of the one that led to Dembélé's opening goal against Sevilla on Saturday.

Koeman on Bartomeu arrest

"When I heard the news I was devastated because I know Bartomeu and Grau well. I feel bad for them, I had good moments with them in a short space of time and Bartomeu has always been an exceptional person to me.
“It’s not good for the image of the club but we have to wait and see what happens (with the investigation). I wasn’t here then so I can’t talk about it, we just have to focus on our job and in turning the tie around tomorrow.”

Lopetegui makes six changes to the side that started against Barcelona on Saturday. No surprises considering how limp his team looked in that game. The Sevilla coach had used up all of his five subs in that game by the hour mark, making three changes at half time.

Koeman starts with the same XI that started against Sevilla on Saturday, meaning there is no starting place for Antoine Griezmann once again.

This will be the second meeting of Barcelona and Sevilla in the space of five days. Barca won Saturday's LaLiga meeting at the Pizjuan (2-0) thanks to goals from Ousmane Dembélé and Lionel Messi. Now they need a second consecutive victory against Julen Lopetegui's side as they look to overturn a 2-0 deficit from the first leg of the Copa semi-final tie last month.
