Deshaun Watson facing raft of sexual misconduct lawsuits

Deshaun Watson’s future is up in the air because on Monday his name came out in the news regarding 13 separate civil lawsuits that include alleged sexual misconduct. The attorney Tony Buzbee is in charge of the case and he filed the lawsuits in Houston on behalf of multiple clients that claim that the Houston Texans’ quarterback committed at least one act of sexual misconduct or assault against them.

On 18 March the NFL confirmed that Watson was facing a third lawsuit and the league immediately started investigating the charges against the player. The latest report is that Watson allegedly sexually assaulted a woman in March.

One of the lawsuits against the QB says that he sexually assaulted a massage therapist this month and he “touched her with his penis and exposed himself.” Another lawsuit says that Watson sexually assaulted another massage therapist twice, once in June 2020 and then in August 2020, when he tried to get her perform oral sex during each session.

Deshaun Watson has denied all of this accusations against him

"As a result of a social media post by a publicity-seeking plaintiff's lawyer, I recently became aware of a lawsuit that has apparently been filed against me," Watson wrote. "I have not yet seen the complaint, but I know this: I have never treated any woman with anything other than the utmost respect. The plaintiff's lawyer claims that this isn't about money, but before filing suit he made a baseless six-figure settlement demand, which I quickly rejected. Unlike him, this isn't about money for me -- it's about clearing my name, and I look forward to doing that."

The attorney representing the 13 alleged victims said he will submit affidavits and evidence from several women to the Houston Police Department and the Houston district attorney. As the case evolves a spokesperson from the NFL, Brain McCarthy, said that Watson’s situation is under review and they are talking with the Houston Texans regarding the matter.
