Real Madrid eyeing Harry Kane as Mbappé, Haaland alternative
Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappé remain at the top of Real Madrid’s wish list, however the club has reportedly identified Kane as a possible alternative signing this summer.
It’s been a while since Harry Kane was last linked with Real Madrid. But the England striker has reportedly reappeared on the Madrid radar, with the club still in need of filling the massive goalscoring gap left following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo almost three years ago.
Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappé remain at the top of Madrid’s wish list. However, considering the pair’s unstoppable rise to superstardom, signing either player could prove financially inviable for Madrid during a time when all clubs are struggling economically due to the pandemic. As a result, Madrid are looking at fellow goalscoring machine Kane as an alternative, according to reports from Spanish radio channel Cadena Ser.
Kane ready to leave Tottenham
The England striker reportedly feels that he has gone as far as he can at Tottenham – where he has scored 215 goals in 377 games over eight seasons – and is ready to take his career to the next step.
His current deal at Spurs doesn’t expire until June 2024 but thanks to his remarkable contribution to the club and the loyalty he has shown over the years, Kane has earned the right to decide his future and club should not stand in his way.
Real Madrid could be perfect match for Kane
His brother and agent, Charlie, is already looking for possible suitors with sufficient grandeur to match the 27-year-old’s superstar stature.
With several favourable factors in play, including the player’s interest, Real Madrid’s interest, and the good relations between Madrid and Spurs following recent agreements for Sergio Reguilón and Gareth Bale, this may be the summer that Kane finally ends up at the Bernabéu. Although he still remains the third option on the table after Mbappé and Haaland.
