Mazico U23 defeated the USA U23 1-0 in the final game of the group stage in CONCACAF Olympic qualifying tournament at the Jalisco stadium. Uriel Antuna scored from outside the area on the stroke of half time to hand El Tri victory.

Mexico remain undefeated

The United States couldn't find an equalizer and mustered very few attempts on goal. Mexico's victory saw El Tri through as the top seeded team in Group A, while the US will advance to the semi-finals in second place.

Mexico U23 has been the most dominant team in the tournament so far. They crushed the Dominican Republic 4-1 in the opening match and then defeated Costa Rica 3-0 on match day 2. Against the United States they were the superior side and racked up 13 attempts on goal, but only three of which were on target.

El Tri and the USMNT will discover their next opponents after the final round of group of games on Thursday pits Honduras against Canada and El Salvador against Haiti in group B.

It is likely Mexico's U23s will face the winner of the game between Honduras and Canada.
