The 'Super Eagles' come into the penultimate game of qualifying unbeaten but have failed to completely impress in the process with Nigeria fans continuing to question Gernot Rohr's tactics as head coach.
The Benin squad is composed of exclusively of foreign-based players. However, the West Africans have since been rocked by travel restrictions preventing a number of their players from getting to Porto-Novo ahead of two international fixtures.

10 players, including defender Olivier Verdon and striker Rudy Gestede, were unable to travel to Africa with Nigeria also suffering from travel and covid issues with Spanish second tier side Leganes refusing to grant permission for defender Kenneth Omeruo to travel. Nantes also declined to release Moses Simon for the games.
Despite Nigeria having the upper hand in games between both nations (12 wins for the Super Eagles), Benin remain unbeaten at home in the past eight years and given the group situation, a draw would be welcomed by both nations.
