The Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder has dual citizenship and declined to be part of the US youth national team so he could join Mexico during the FIFA international break. Álvarez didn't see minutes in the 1-0 defeat against Wales, but he could make his international debut with 'El Tri' today against Costa Rica.

Mexico is the first team to arrive to the Wiener Neustadt Stadion in Austria.

For this game it has been confirmed that Henry Martín and Alan Pulido are didn't reach full-fitness due to minor injuries suffered last Friday during practice.
