Chivas player Isaac Brizuela rejected offers from MLS

When Isaac Brizuela was playing with Toluca he reached a peak in his career and in 2013 he was considered one of the best Mexican players in the Liga MX. In 2015 Chivas paid close to $7 million to Toluca to acquire the winger and since then he has been a key player for the team from Guadalajara.

Brizuela has won the Liga MX (2010, 2017), the Copa MX (2015, 2017), the Supercopa MX (2016), the CONCACAF Champions League (2018) and was included in the 2018 Concachampions best XI the year he won it. The former Mexican international has won it all with Guadalajara and his contract is set to expire on 31 December 2022.

Rejected offers from MLS

It was rumored that Isaac Brizuela could leave Chivas before his contract expires, but he wants to retire in Guadalajara. During an interview with TUDN the 30-year-old confirmed that he had offers from clubs in Major League Soccer, but he wants to stay with Chivas.

It was true I had offers from the MLS, but I want to continue here in Guadalajara because I am still under contract. I’ve said it plenty of times, I want to keep playing for Chivas for many more years and win more titles,” he said.

In Mexico I only want to play for Chivas, but you never know what the future holds. I would like to retire in this great club and I will do all that I can to accomplish that. I have to train harder and maintain my level and hopefully the bosses will extend my stay here.”
