Bayern Munich - PSG live online: Champions League 2020/21

Bayern Munich and PSG clash at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday in one of the most intriguing and anticipated encounters of the Champions League quarter-finals 2020/21.

It will be a repeat of last season’s final, whiich ended with the German powerhouse lifting the trophy after beating the Parisian outfit 1-0.

This match seems to come at the right time for the Bavarian side, as they beat RB Leipzig last weekend and took another step towards the Bundesliga title, while PSG's hopes of clinching another Ligue 1 trophy diminished after losing to Lille.

Bayern, a scary opponent

Bayern easily booked their ticket to the quarter-finals with a 6-2 aggregate victory against Lazio. The reigning champions have only failed to advance past this stage twice in the past nine seasons.

With 18 victories from their last 19 matches in the European competition, Hansi Flick’s men could become the second team in history with a 20-match unbeaten run in the tournament after Manchester United did so between 2007 and 2009.

PSG to take advantage of Lewandowski's absence

Those may seem scary numbers for any opponent, but PSG will try to knock Bayern out of the competition relying on the fact Kylian Mbappé is in fully fit and Neymar is back. Moreover, the Parisian team have been boosted by the recent news that superstar Robert Lewandowski will miss the first leg and probably also the second leg through injury.

Pochettino’s side have the potential to beat any team in the tournament, as they proved in the previous round, when they thrashed Barcelona at Camp Nou (1-4) with an impressive Mbappé, scoring a hat trick.

Coman, Müller, Sané with Choupo-Moting up front?

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting will take Lewandowski’s spot against PSG. Coman, Thomas Müller and Leroy Sané are the ones expected to surround him in the attacking line, as Serge Gnabry will miss out after testing positive for coronavirus.

Defenders Alphonso Davies and Jerome Boateng didn’t play against Leipzig due to suspension, but they are available again and could feature from the start.

Corentin Tolisso and Douglas Costa will also be unavailable for the match, both with tendon and ankle problems respectively.

All eyes on Neymar-Mbappé

As for PSG, Ander Herrera will likely be in midfield, as Leandro Paredes is suspended, while Danilo Pereira is struggling to overcome a calf injury.

Meanwhile, Marco Verratti and Alessandro Florenzi have both returned positive coronavirus tests and Pochettino won’t be able to call upon them. Mauro Icardi or Moise Kean could play alongside Mbappé and Neymar in the attack.
