Major Qatari club places offer for Al Hilal's Bafétimbi Gomis
Saudi reports reveal that Al Hilal received an offer from a Qatari club for their French striker Bafétimbi Gomis who is close to departing the Saudi giants.
Saudi media reports unveiled on Monday the interest of "a big Qatari club" in landing Al Hilal's veteran striker Bafétimbi Gomis by purchasing the remaining period of the contract linking him to the Saudi Pro League leaders.
According to "Aleqtisadiah" Al Hilal have received a bid from a major Qatari side that is interested in securing the services of the French forward whose contract with "Al Za'eem" runs out in 2022, while the Saudi outfit officials decided to sleep on the offer and not accept or reject it until receiving the report from newly-appointed manager Leonardo Jardim.
Gomis wants to play until 2023
The article also added that a source close to the 35-year-old player revealed that Gomis wants to either extend his current contract with Al-Hilal for one more season or get a two-year deal from another club as he is planning on retiring in 2023.
All recent speculations have referred to the French striker departure by the end of this season after Al Hilal managed to sign Porto's Moussa Marega.
Although the Qatari club's identity hasn't been revealed, only a few clubs in Qatar can afford Gomis' transfer fee - Al Sadd, Al Duhail or Al Rayyan.
