Starring on NBA 2K22 cover "special", says Doncic
"Making the global cover of NBA 2K22 is special for me," Doncic said. "I’m proud to represent my country in a special cover that honors the colors of the Slovenian flag. Basketball has given me so much, and I’m excited to give back and work together with 2K Foundations this year to help the lives of young kids around the globe."
Game out in September
NBA 2K22 is to be released on 10 September 2021 and can be reserved here. According to 2K Sports, the game will feature improved graphics and artificial intelligence, as well as historic teams and "a wide variety of hoops experiences".
Special edition marking 25th anniversary of WNBA
The covers of the Cross-Gen Digital Bundle and NBA 75th Anniversary Edition were designed by the artist Charly Palmer, who has sought to pay tribute to the league's legacy three quarters of a century on from its inception. Exclusively in North America, an alternative version of the Standard Edition will be available with WNBA star Candace Parker on the cover, as 2K Sports marks the 25th anniversary of the US’ professional women’s basketball league. Parker is the first woman to be chosen as an NBA 2K22 cover star.
