Fernando Torres appointed youth team coach at Atlético Madrid
The club has presented the academy plan for the coming season. Fernando Torres will be in charge of the Juvenil A team.
Fernando Torres has been officially named as head coach of Atlético Madrid's Juvenil A side. Last season he worked with the reserve team, as assistant to Nacho Fernández, and then with the Juvenil A, alongside Jesús Marcos, where he won the league title.
In the new club structure there are other recognisable surnames. The Cadete B coaching role will go to Borja Resurrección, brother of club captain Koke, after a spell with Madrileño C and, before that, with Alcorcón's youth team. The reins of Alevín A will once again go to Fabio Futre, son of the legendary Paulo, who took part in LaLiga Promises last May.
Atlético B are preparing for another challenging season and will be coached by Luis García Tevenet, who was a player in the reserve team 20 years ago. The team will compete in Tercera RFEF, the fifth national category, and are under pressure to get promoted for the sake of the youth team players looking to progess into Diego Simeone's first team squad.
