Jalen Green confirms he won’t work out with teams beyond second pick
Green is a top pick in the NBA draft and won’t settle for less, as he tells reporters he is one of the best and hopes to get rookie of the year
Jalen Green played guard for the G League Ignite last season, part of the NBA’s professional pathway program, which Green says is “one step ahead of college”. Green worked out with the Houston Rockets on Monday, the team with the second round pick in the NBA draft.
Green confident that he deserves to be a top pick in the NBA draft
The explosive athlete, at 6-foot-5, averaged 17.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in the G League last season. He is confident that he is one of the best players in the draft and believes that the Houston Rockets would be a good fit.
Though it’s likely the Rockets feel the same and could choose Green in the draft, it’s not final yet. The Detroit Pistons have the first pick, and Green recently worked out with them as well. If the Pistons choose to go with Green, the Rockets will have Cade Cunningham of Oklahoma State available to them.
As for Green, he believes he deserves a spot at the top. “That’s where I’m trying to go, high into the draft,” he said.
