Alex Morgan’s omission from the USWNT Olympic roster came as a surprise to many - including the player herself. The 35-year-old forward played in one of the warm-up matches for the tournament, starting the 3-0 win against South Korea and played a part in both the CONCACAF W Gold Cup and She Believes Cup triumphs earlier this year.

This will always be a tournament that is close to my heart and I take immense pride any time I put on the crest. In less than a month, I look forward to supporting this team and cheering them on alongside the rest of our country.”
Alex Morgan is one of the most distinguished soccer players to have represented the United States at full international level. She is ninth in the all-time appearances ranking with 224 caps and the fifth top goal scorer in history with 123 goals.

Let’s take a look at how much she is worth. In 2015, Time magazine reported that she was the top-paid American women’s soccer player thanks to a host of endorsement deals signed with blue chip companies businesses such as Nike, Panasonic, Volkswagen, McDonald’s and Coca-Cola among others.
As captain of the San Diego Waves, Alex earns an annual salary of $450,000 then there are her earnings and bonuses with the USWNT which takes her on-field earnings to around $800,000 according to Forbes. But Morgan’s wealth comes mostly from her off-field business portfolio which includes deals with brands such as Nike, Coca-Cola, Molecule Sleep, Schutz, Michelob Ultra, Bodyarmor, Molecule Sleep, Hyundai, Spotify, Calvin Klein, DICK’s Sporting Goods, Orgain and Soccer Post.
Along with Chloe Kim, Simone Manuel and Sue Bird, Morgan is one the co-founders of media company Togethxr, whose clients include Netflix. Altogether, that boosts her annual earnings to around $6.3 million before tax. According to Celebrity Net Worth, Morgan has a net worth of about $3 million.
