USWNT boss Andonovski wants the bronze medal at all cost
The United States women’s national team boss said that they will “do anything possible” to win the bronze in the third-place match against Australia.
The United States women’s national team fell short of the gold-medal after losing 1-0 to Canada in the semi-finals of the Tokyo Olympics and now they have to settle for the third-place match on Thursday night against Australia. The USWNT boss, Vlatko Andonovski, said that they will “do anything possible” to bring the bronze back home.
The United States have struggled in Tokyo
"We were aiming for gold and we will always aim for gold, and that will never change," Andonovski said Wednesday. "Just because it didn't happen doesn't mean it stops there. We go into every game to win it. At the end of the day, it's a medal at the Olympics. We're going to do anything possible.
"We don't have anything to lose, we actually have a lot to win and we're going to do anything possible to win the medal,” he added.

Some of the players are on the same page as Andovoski and they are ready to leave everything on the pitch against Australia to win a medal at the Olympics. But the reality is that it is going to be a tough matchup for the USWNT because they have struggled throughout the tournament with only two wins in five games.
"There's going to be roller-coaster emotions especially in a big tournament, and different types of pressure, different types of expectations. When you play with joy, all of that goes away," said USWNT goalkeeper Adrianna Franch.
"The bronze is just as important, because it's what we have to fight for. And I said, up and downs with a roller coaster, we find ways to come out and it's a learning experience. We will continue to do that and get better every single day."
