Brendan Rodgers saddened by Messi’s departure from Barcelona
Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers expresses the sadness that many have felt to see Lionel Messi leave the club at Barcelona after more than 20 years.
Brendan Rodgers is a former player and current manager of the Premiere League club Leicester City. He, among many others, is sad that Messi has left Barcelona.
Why it's so sad to see Messi go
In an interview, Rodgers expresses well what many of us have been thinking. While he says he wishes the best for Messi and knows he will achieve great things, it is still strange to see him in another uniform and sad to see him leave the team behind that he was with from a boy to a man. Not only the time that he spent with the club, but what he built within it and did for Barcelona, make it difficult to say goodbye. Rodgers says that he's always enjoyed watching him play.
Though it was pretty clear that Messi himself didn’t want to leave Barcelona after spending so long there, he’s now moved on whether we like it or not, after signing a two-year deal with PSG.
