Gerd Müller is still the all-time record goalscorer in the Bundesliga, with a total of 365 goals. He finished as top scorer in the league seven times, more than any other player. It took 49 years to break his record of goals scored in a single season. He scored a few notable clutch goals, too, including one in the final of Germany’s Euro 1972 win and the winning goal in Germany’s 2-1 defeat over the Netherlands in the 1974 World Cup.

Former West Germany forward Rudi Völler said of Müller, “The way he could shoot with both feet was incredible. He will remain unmatched with his scoring stats.”
