USA Matt Miazga joins Alavés on loan from Chelsea
Chelsea has agreed to loan Matt Miazga to Alavés until June 2022 when the deal is set to be completed. The 26-year-old defender is ready to move on.
After having spent one season in Belgium with Anderlecht, Chelsea center-back Matt Miazga continues his loan travels by joining Alavés on loan through June 2022. Though Miazga stated that he would like to leave Chelsea permanently, the economic impact from the pandemic has left him with limited options. As such, he has signed an extension with Chelsea before heading out and joining LaLiga with Alavés on loan until June 2022.
Alavés hoping to improve defense with Miazga's help
Alavés didn’t get off to a great start, losing 4-1 to Real Madrid in the season opener. Last season, the team just barely made relegation. They were in need of a solid defensive player, and Miazga was in need of a change. It’s hopefully a win-win for both parties.
